Liv was 12 when she witnessed the birth of her sister, Stella, behind the lens of 2001 Sony Handycam. A magical experience she abruptly buried beneath Limited Too Fashion Blogs and Boys Who Played Guitar.
She went on a West Coast holiday/work trip the summer she turned 22 and decided to return home a different woman. She kissed her future BSN goodbye and picked up the ethereal shovel of “finding one’s purpose.”
Stella’s birth was as golden as she’d remembered.
Eureka!
Life as she knew it was over.
Liv had to commit her life to the goldmine of serving women in the birthing realm.

In February 2024, I witnessed the sacred farm-house birth of Ebbie June. Caught by her mother (hey Audrey!) mid-squat while sweat dripped down the edge of the bed. Chest to chest and mouth to mouth they breathed through Ebbie’s grunty EMS-worthy transition and landed in a fairytale first latch. Golden hours passed. Everyone smiled that tired but more-than-alive smile and settled into bed. (Air mattress in the loft for me.)

Enter the 4 week postpartum visit on Audrey’s couch, she’s singing the same song as her birth-night.

No. Liv does not believe in the certification and regulation of women attending women in the realms of birth. She will further explain this belief in Module 01.

Absolutely. Birthcraft will prepare you to embody the birth worker identifying with any of the following labels:
Doula, Birth Keeper, Birth Attendant/Companion, Birth Witness
These titles are all pretty synonymous to Liv, although she will explore the history, modern understanding, and cultural implications of each title in the course.
Liv believes every woman can/should be attuned to embody the role of the birth worker taught in Birthcraft.
